AI can automate parts of photo editing, but the human touch is better for anything that needs judgement or intent. A person can see context, emotion and purpose in an image, which software can’t fully understand. Sometimes, the image you need ios more about the humour and memories than ‘perfection
Business photos take a fair bit of wear and tear. They get used in brochures, websites and social posts, and sometimes the original image is not quite what you wanted. Unwanted elements can be removed, scratches and marks can be repaired, and colours can be adjusted so everything matches the tone of your brand. The same care applies to personal photos.
Favourite pictures of loved ones often pick up creases, stains and the odd mystery shadow. Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom help bring back detail, soften harsh contrast and tidy the parts time has been unkind to, while keeping the feeling of the original image intact.
I use generally Photoshop for things like fixing colour tone, tidying images and getting them ready for print or digital use rather than as a stand alone service, but of course I would love to talk with you about any ideas you have in mind. Perhaps you want a bespoke greeting or postcard, or a cushion, t-shirt… there sky really is the limit now!
Here’s a birthday card I made a few years ago for my school days bestie, who wanted a card for her daughter’s birthday. It’s central theme was of her childhood favourite toy. The cake and balloon images came from Adobe Stock. I had to create the flames on the candles as the image was of unlit candles, and colour the gold balloons to match my card colours. The doll took a bit of photo manipulation to extract it cleanly from its original background, but it’s a sweet image that brought big smiles.
