AD Graphic Design

What I love to do, and what I do best

I work in the practical end of design where things need to look good and read clearly. My key skills sit across digital and print, from websites and everyday business graphics to custom resources and seasonal branding that gives a project a bit of personality. I like work that’s useful, tidy and easy for people to live with, and I’m not shy about saying when something needs improving. It keeps the standard up and it keeps the job honest.

Adobe Creative Suite

  •  Strong use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat for digital and print work, such as business cards, reports and marketing material
  •  Creating live, editable PDF forms and interactive documents such as forms, certificates and surveys.
  • Clear, practical writing for professional publications
  • Custom digital resources including simple GIFs, seasonal graphics and branded assets
  • Designing character assets that quietly lift a brand and make people smile
  • Seasonal dressing of logos and headers for autumn, Christmas and other themes
  • Practical design support for small businesses and organisations that want things done properly

Microsoft Office Suite

  • Word for everyday documents and reports, with working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Digital Marketing and Social Media

  • Email, newsletters and managing mailing lists for clear digital communication for small businesses
  • Social media graphics and simple SEO‑aware content that doesn’t make wild promises
  • Website design, layout, updates and ongoing maintenance

The design industry is rapidly evolving, as too are clients needs. Digital printing was just edging in over litho printing when I first started working in print, and I am very glad to have had the hands on experiences and opportunities to learn about traditional medias, which are still valid today, however, there’s never an excuse to be left behind and demonstrating a full understanding of modern technologies alongside the experience of more traditional processes gives me a very broad scope of knowledge to draw from.

NCFE Level 2 Understanding Climate Change and Environmental Awareness

Passed July 2025

Course provider: Bridgwater and Taunton College

I started this course in May 2025 because not only do I have a particular love for being outside in the open countryside and all things environmental, but I have also worked with several clients in the ‘green industries’ sector, and in doing so have acquired great depth of knowledge, particularly in passivhaus principles, enerphit and MVHR units.

I wanted to do this course to formally demonstrate that I understand the principles behind why we should be moving towards a more sustainable future. I was absolutely delighted to receive notification that I had passed, with some absolutely glowing feedback too!
